I think this was written by a native English speaker, and I understand it to mean that the vegetables are available with (a)menu item(s) called a "dinner platter". I suppose it could be confusing if translate literally into Spanish.

You have to be the most intuitive person I've ever come across:)

I thought it was a variety of vegetables served on a huge, usually rectangular or oval shaped, plate.

Now that I think about it, it could also refer to an immense platter that everyone goes up to and served themselves.

I didn't check the menu, I just ordered a burger and onion rings, but I wonder what is on a menu item called "Dinner Platter"

I took this to mean literally a veggie plate, like an appetizer for several, or something that vegetarians would jump at. Mention of the size of the plate was to let customers know that it was bigger than an average appetizer plate. Just my guess and I would have had to ask the waiter.

My Honduran husband would totally share your horror at the thought of eating only vegetables for a meal. He loves veggies and salads, but the unwritten law requires that it be accompanied by meat, and lots of it.
